TRAC STYLE 'RA' AIR PRESSURE REDUCING VALVE The TRAC Style ‘RA’ pressure reducing valve is an internal pilot and internally ported valve utilized for regulating and reducing high pressure air or nitrogen to any desired operating pressure within its adjustable range. The Style ‘RA’ valve requires no external source of power to operate the valve or to detect changes in outlet pressure. The Style ‘RA’ valve is suitable for shipboard systems intended to regulate air with tighter droop characteristics than self-contained, spring loaded, direct operated pressure reducing valves. The inlet pressure rating of the Style ‘RA’ valve is 150 psig and the outlet set pressure is adjustable from 15 to 135 psig. The valve requires at least a 15 psi pressure difference between air supply pressure and maximum regulated pressure. It can be adjusted to limit maximum output pressure to any value from 15 psi below supply pressure down to 5 psi gauge pressure. The Style ‘RA’ valve is similar in design and construction to the Style ‘R’ valve with the internal trim modified specifically for air service. Tight shutoff is assured with the incorporation of the soft seat arrangement. The resilient seat disc material is available in Buna-N (standard) and Rulon. The Teflon piston seal incorporated in the Style ‘RA’ valve design provides a durable self cleaning and self lubricating seal which eliminates the problems of binding or blow-by typically associated with metal piston rings in air service. The TRAC Style ‘RA’ pressure reducing valve is manufactured in accordance with the following military specification (Departures from the military specification valve are available- these modifications include but are not limited to changes in body material, trim material, end connections, and rated pressure): For more information on the TRAC Style ‘RA’ product line: For detailed maintenance instructions for the TRAC Style ‘RA’ product line:
